1 John 2:27
But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.

Welcome fellow Berean Bible students to the book of Daniel. Our approach to the study is an inductive one. The intial phase is a cusory observation of the entire book. That will be followed with a detailed interpretation and application of the text.
The inductive method is intended to make God’s Word more personal to all of us. So as we persevere, let each of us trust – without doubt – in our LORD for the “anointing which you have received from Him abides in you.“
This old testament book was written between 536 – 530 B.C. by the prophet Daniel. It encompasses the entire 70 year captivity (605 – 535 B.C.) of the southern kingdom of Judah. In 605 B.C. the southern kingdom of Judah was attacked. The king and some of his nobles were taken to Babylon – among them was Daniel.
In 597 B.C. Nebuchadnezzar, now the king of Babylonia, attacked Judah for the second time taking about 10,000 captives to Babylon – among them was Ezekiel.
The third and final seige occurred in 596 B.C. when Judah was finally conquered and Solomon’s temple was destroyed. The exiles of Judah became known as Men of Judah or Jews.
